While this is a very good focus for new players, Secret Garden believes that we can use this as an opportunity to add nuance that opens up design space. As an example, we bring you some of our additions to combat actions. So we will introduce two so far new combat actions; the first is Defend which offers a middle ground for a player that is somewhere between a full-on Attack and a completely defensive Dodge. This action will allow the character to still attack, but also increase their survivability.
This is particularly true if they are using a Defensive weapon see below. The other, Bind Weapon, is actually an addendum to the Ready action that gives players that choose to, a way of tying up a particularly dangerous enemy weapon. When you take the Defend action, you sacrifice attack power to focus on blocking enemy strikes. With this action, you make one melee attack with disadvantage on both the attack and damage roll. Until your next turn, you add your proficiency bonus to your Armor Class against melee attacks if you can see the attacker.
Until your next turn, you cannot take opportunity attacks. You must be wielding a melee weapon with the Binding property and you must have proficiency with it. To do so, when you take the Ready action, declare that you are readying a bind. After that, whenever an opponent that you can see attacks you with a melee weapon, you may choose to either let the attack pass or trigger the bind.
When you trigger the bind, you make an attack roll with a weapon that you are wielding with the Binding property. If you fail, your opponent has disadvantage on the damage roll and your attack does no damage. Your opponent cannot attack or in any way use a bound weapon. A creature with a bound weapon can use its action to attempt to free the weapon. To do so, it must succeed in a Strength Athletics check contested by your Strength Athletics check.
You may release a bound weapon at any time as a free action. If you are wielding a weapon with the Defensive property and have taken the Defend action in combat, you can use your reaction to deflect a blow when you are hit by a melee attack. Example: Defensive 1d4. As an example of how this opens up design space for more advanced combat tactics, here is the rough draft of a Hook Sword and some preliminary Feats that complement it and the Actions seen above.
Please note that not only are these rules rough drafts, but some of them are not necessarily going to be in our Core Rulebook. You gain the following benefits. You have mastered the art of wielding the exotic, but deadly hook longsword. Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Criminal Case has brought a much-needed crime-themed puzzler to the hidden object genre.
Game developers have translated traditional HoG mechanics into a brilliant snoop and find game. Instead of the usual object-hunting scenes, the game takes players to a grisly crime scene full of clues to decipher.
Upon solving a crime scene, the player will be rewarded with points and bonuses along with star ratings. Stars can help unlock special mini-games ranging from jigsaw puzzles to code-breaker games.
Criminal Case plays like a true crime investigation game. The real-time analysis of potential clue items is what makes this game pretty different from the rest of the games.
The player must solve all scenes in a case and then question a bunch of suspects. The case is solved if the right suspect fulfills the criteria collected while solving the crime scenes. The game is strictly for adults, especially for those who love CSI. It offers something new and interesting and is suitable for those who are bored playing treasure-hunt, fantasy or haunted house-themed HoGs.
Gameplay is fairly traditional HoG, with hidden object scenes ranging from simple seek-and-find puzzles to adventure-style scenes that encourage object-interaction.
Many times, seek and find scenes will present an opportunity to find specific objects and use them on others to complete a scene.
Such object interaction can also be seen in games like Hidden Chronicles. Such scenes have to be solved in a sequence and only then you can complete it. Overall, a good HoG to play in your free time. Lost Legacies does not go beyond the traditional hidden object mechanics, neither does it offer any variety. But the one aspect that will instantly catch your eye is its simple, crisp graphics.
The attractive visuals make seek and find gameplay quite engaging. Objects are easy to locate, which is why this game will be quite suitable for kids. In Lost Legacies , your score depends on how quickly you find objects. You can get a high score by finding all objects as accurately and quickly as possible. But yes, children will love to solve simple hidden object scenes. Kids, this Facebook hidden object game can be a perfect summer vacation pastime.
Another standard HoG, Relic Quest has an excellent character-driven story. Fans of Indiana Jones will instantly like the entire plot as well as gameplay. The game is quest-based, with each quest beginning with interesting dialogues exchanged between the titular character and other characters. Players must complete the objectives within a quest to progress to a new quest.
Relic Quest also lets players build their own museum by placing rare relics on a room and earning value points to unlock a new scene.
Previously solved scenes are re-playable, and give players the opportunity to attain mastery level. While the scenes stick to the traditional HoG mechanics, there are some unique plot-driven scenes that task players to find items related to the story.
The puzzle scenes are randomized, which means you will find items placed randomly every time you replay a level.
