Dear Toby Martin, we habe excatly the same issue here we added two new drives with GB. Did you find a solution? Regards Wilhelm Meth. I had same problem. HDD firmware update solved this problem!!! Now working.. I have exact same problem I tried ei firmware update , bios update, hdd firmware updates bt stil the same eror and raid 5 or raid 0 is the same problem.

Or someone have active extended warranty from HP to request fix for firmware? Acclaimed Contributor. What version is on the disks? Hope this helps!

Installation went very well. The problem I am having, or think I am having, is the drive operations appear to be slow. Both drives are recognized as hda and hdc respectively. I had expected them to be recognized as sca and scb.

If I load the rpm, will it affect the installation and data??? This is a production box and I prefer to minimize risk. Thanks for any assistance.

I have Proliant ML G5 server which is configured on Raid 1 but i want to add more hot plug drives and want to make Raid 5 on it. All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic. Honored Contributor. Unsure if you can change between the raid types on that controller though. It is a little bit messy.

Another way to do this would be to back everything up, delete arrays, create new array with RAID 5 and put data back on. Thanks Johan Guldmyr, i have tried F8 but it did not show any array although Raid 1 is configured on two hot plug drives and when I try to create it say "no drive dectect" Server has Smart array E controller.

Ah, thought you didn't have a smart array controller. Then please try to boot the CD on the smartstart CD. I have tried smartstart 8. Right, sorry about that.
