I think for the soundmax, you should go in device manager, uninstall any driver, then "search automatically" for a driver, including the "search the internet" option, there is a driver in the online database that should install, you can try the same with the Audigy card, it also has a driver on the online database, however I don't expect that one to work as well, it should install and give us a starting point Sunday, June 7, AM.

This should work with both devices as long as we uninstall all versions already on the machine using this method. Can you try installing it using this method? It allows you to set up a Windows XP mode for Windows 7.

My hardware doesn't support it unfortunely. Why not try this, according to that page it has been modified for Audigy It supposedly installed but when I tried using the control panel, it didn't detect anything. Saturday, June 6, AM. OK, I can't remember the exact model of mine, I will try to dig it out over the weekend and try to figure it out, did you try installing the Dell Dimension audio drivers in compatability mode? Can you post the hardware ids from device manager for each of these for me?

Saturday, June 6, PM. Just tried both method and neither seem to worked. I also already tried allowing the device to search the internet From what I've been reading up, many people who installed or upgrade to the Build face the same problem I do. So it might be the case I'll have to wait until MS create a fix for it. I might just downgrade back to XP in the mean time after a few more attempt at this.

This don't seem to be a working link. If you will post your "hardware id" for the soundmax it may help. Also, does it still show as a "unknown device" in device manager? That will be fine, dou you also have that for the Audigy card? It's saying :"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. Code 39 I'm trying the XP verison now. This is a new, win7 beta driver that definetly supports your Creative card, if it doesn't install or the link won't work post me Just tried the Vista verison and it's a no go too. Edited by shakeyplace Sunday, June 7, AM. Same error both ways? To set compatability mode right click on setup. I just tried the Creative beta driver and that didn't work either. The control panel when I tried to launch it said " The audio device supported by this supported by this application is not detected.
